The enraged people went on to the extent of saving polish dogs using the social media platform Twitter. A hashtag trended on Twitter saying, #SaveThePolishDog. But these efforts were useless as they ultimately discontinued, and other eateries started offering a substitute yet failed miserably.

The petition was signed by more than 7200 people compelling the bakery to release a mini version of the cake. The new mini version is sized like a muffin and is being loved by consumers.

Hand-Dipped Ice-Cream Bars

The real reason for discontinuing this delicious and very affordable ice cream bar was never apparent. But a news source reported that rising food costs for dairy and almonds could be the reason why they discontinued this delightful ice cream. Another reason could be that the company was not yielding enough profits from the item.

The ice cream had an amalgamation of chocolate and vanilla with almonds sprinkled on top. The company later replaced this ice cream with Kirkland brand bars that also got immensely popular. These new bars put to rest the cravings that the consumers had for their formerly loved ice cream.

RoundUp

RoundUp was a viral weed killer by Costco. But the item became highly controversial when a couple, Alva and Alberta, filed a complaint against the company, stating that the product causes chronic illness. Later, these aware consumers were awarded by the court and the company because their claims were correct. This case had the potential to damage the reputation of Costco, so with immediate effect, they discarded the sale of the product.

The company never came back with such a product, and for that matter, no substitute was available at Costco as they believe in quality, not quantity, and the public is at risk.

BBQ Beef Brisket Sandwich

The flagship sandwich of the company, the BBQ beef brisket sandwich, was trendy and, according to their customers, was the best thing on their menu. However, Costco stopped selling this sandwich without giving a statement or reason. The sandwich was already limited and was not available at all Costco stores.

The company brought back the sandwich with a twist. Costco replaced this unique, yummy, and saucy beef barbeque sandwich with a cup of chili, which was not liked at all, and got a complete thumbs down from the consumers. As of now, people are missing their favorite sandwich and are hoping for its grand return.

Chocolate Frozen Yogurt

Another staple item from Costco, the Chocolate Frozen Yogurt, also got abandoned by the company. The reason was that the company was going healthier, and sticking to healthier food options will yield them profits. However, this was not the case with this flavourful yogurt. A petition was signed to bring back this thick creamy dessert on the shelves, and it seems like the company’s heart was more frozen than the yogurt, and they declined the petition.

A new substitute was introduced to replace the item, and it was an acai banana chips bowl with blueberries and strawberries slices. This did not impress the Americans, and they still craved yogurt.
