Nachdem die damals 14 Jahre alte Sophia Loren an ihrem ersten Schönheitswettbewerb teilgenommen hatte, entstand bei ihr der Wunsch, Schauspielunterricht zu nehmen. Auch wenn sie schon als 15-jährige in Filmen mitgewirkt hatte, bemerkte man Sofias schauspielerisches Können erst, als sie in Vittoria De Sicas italienischem Film And Yet They Live zu sehen war. Ihre Leistung brachte ihr einen Oscar ein. Ungeachtet etlicher Film- und Ehrenauszeichnungen verlief Sofias Leben nicht stets problemlos. So musste die Schauspielerin wegen Steuerhinterziehung ein paar Wochen in Haft verbringen. Letztendlich hat ihr Anwalt den Fall beigelegt. Die ewige Grazie von Sophia Loren bleibt unabhängig vom Lebensalter bestehen. Ob dies auf besondere Anti-Aging-Cremes zurückzuführen ist, bleibt dahingestellt.
