Bart Conner, 62
Bart Wayne Conner is a retired American gymnast. Conner won two gold medals in the 1984 Summer Olympics Games. His passion for gymnastics grew when he got involved in school gymnastics activities. Later at the age of 14, Bart won the Junior National Championship in 1972. Further, he started gaining success in gymnastics. He further won a teal gold medal in the 1975 Pan American Games. In the 1984 Summer Olympics, he won a team gold medal and one for the men’s parallel bars.
He got the USA a gold medal after 80 years under the category of men’s parallel bar. Further, in the same competition, he made his own move known as “Conner Spin.” Soon after his retirement, he owned an academy in Oklahoma as Bart Conner Gymnastics with his wife, Nadia Comaneci.
Shawn Johnson, 29
Shawn Johnson was in gymnastics from the age of three. She is best known as the Olympic balance gold medalist and team all-around and as a floor exercise silver medalist in 2008. Shawn also won a gold medal on the women’s balance team and three silver for the women’s gymnastics team.

In 2012, Shawn announced her retirement from gymnastics due to her knee surgery. Besides her professional career, she is also indulged in various charity works. Additionally, she is also an author and entrepreneur. Shawn married football player Andrew East in 2016, and in 2019, the couple welcomed their first daughter in the world.

Kristi Yamaguchi is a former figure skater. She won the Olympic championship in 1992; besides, she is also a two-time World champion and the 1992 United States Champion of figure skating. Alicia Sacramone is a retired American gymnastic, well known as the second-most decorated American gymnast in the record of world championships with 10 medals. Alicia started her training in gymnastics when she was eight years old. In the 2008 summer Olympics in Beijing, she competed at the age of 20 and became part of the U.S Olympic women’s team.

Besides, she also worked as a designer for the men’s fashion company named Tank Farm in 2009. Sacramone married the former NFL quarterback Brady Quin in 2014. Now, she is a mother of three adorable daughters, and they are happily living in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Larisa Latynina, 86
At the age of 21, Latynina made her Olympic debut in 1956 at the Melbourne Olympic Games.

She is an Olympian for life and the only woman in gymnastics who has won an all-around medal in more than two Olympiads. Additionally, Latynina won an individual event (floor exercise) in more than two Olympiads. She was the world record holder for 18 gold medals in the Olympics.
In 1966, Latynina retired and became a coach of the Soviet Union’s Women’s Gymnastics team. Under her training, the Soviet women won the gold medal in the Olympics in 1968, 1972 and 1976. At present, Latynina, the pride of the former Soviet Union, lives in Russia.
McKayla Maroney, 25
McKayla Maroney is a retired American artistic gymnast. Before getting retired, she was a member of American women’s gymnastics team named the Fierce Five. In the span of her gymnast career, she won a gold medal in the 2012 Summer Olympics and a silver medal in the vault event.

Further in the 2011 World Championships, Maroney again won gold and silver medals. With an impressive career in gymnastics, she is currently seen on screen. Maroney starred in the TV series Hart of Dixie and Baby, Don’t Get Hooked on Me. And now, she is also stepping into the music industry and releases her first single, Wake Up Call.
Rulon Gardner, 49
Rulon Gardner is an American retired wrestler. He competed at the 2000 Olympics and won a gold medal. Later, he also won a gold medal in the 2004 Olympics against Aleksandr Karelin from Russia in the final round. In the 2012 Olympics, Gardner tried to make a comeback but could not make the weight limit for the USA Olympic Trials.

However, Gardner is living a quiet life now and sells insurance at the age of 40+. On the other hand, he has a second job as a wrestling coach in Salt Lake City area high school that keeps him busy.
Dorothy Hamill, 64
Dorothy Hamil was born in Chicago, Illinois who is now a retired skater. She started her skating lessons at the age of 8 and got serious about this sport. Hamill is the 1976 Olympic champion and in the same year World champion in ladies singles. She also wrote two autobiographies, On and Off the Ice and A Skating Life: My Story.

However, her life was a bit of a struggle. In 2008 Hamill was diagnosed with breast cancer, and she already suffers from chronic depression, which her daughter also suffers from. This American skater now spends time with a program she started called I-Skate that allows disabled children to skate on ice.
Apolo Ohno, 38
Apolo Ohno, born on May 22, 1982, is an American retired short-track speed skating. He is an eight-time medalist with two gold, two silver, and four bronze in the Winter Olympics. Ohno was into the US Olympic Hall of Fame in 2019. He started winning in the 2002 winter Olympics, and since then, Ohno has won almost every competition. Additionally, at the age of 14 in 1999, he became the youngest reigning champion.

Ohno also won a reality TV show, Dancing with Stars. Later he was the TV host of Minute To Win It (2013-14 season) and now a successful entrepreneur.
Dick Fosbury, 74
Dick Fosbury is an American retired high jumper and considered an influential athlete in track and field history. He even created his own jump, known as Fosbury Flop, as he jumped with the back first technique. Today all the high jumpers now opt for the technique. Besides this, Fosbury is also a gold winner at the 1968 Olympics.

After having a successful career in sports, Fosbury stepped into politics. He ran for Blaine County Commissioner against Larry Schien in 2018. Fosbury won the seat and took office in January 2019. Tonya Harding is a former figure skater, boxer, and a reality television personality. She was also the first woman who became the first American to complete a triple axel in a competition. She was the first American female who won the gold medal for the individual floor exercise competition.

Also, she was the only gymnast who competed legally at the age of 14 in the Olympics.

Summer Sanders, 48
Summer Sanders was born in Roseville, California, and by the age of three, she wanted to swim just like her brother. Summer is a former swimmer and 1992 Olympic winner with gold, silver, and bronze medals. However, Summer started to draw attention at the age of 15 when she was close to winning the 1988 Olympic Team.

Presently Summer is a TV personality working as a sports commentator. From 1991-94 she was the commentator of CBS Sports for NCAA swimming championships. She has also hosted some famous shows, Today Show, Good Morning America, and Rachael Ray. Summer also hosted the game show, Figure It Out.
Nastia Liukin, 31
Coming from a gymnast background, Nastia Liukin was the world champion of balance beam in 2005. Nastia’s parents were gymnasts, and her brother was a rhythmic gymnast champion. She brought home three silver medals, one bronze, and a gold medal at the Summer Olympics in Beijing in 2008.

Later in 2012, Nastia retired from her gymnast career. But this Olympic winner turned into a bossy lady and marked her name in the business world. Edwin Moses, 65
Edwin Moses is an American former track and field athlete. In the 1976 and 84 Olympics, he has won gold medals in the 400 m hurdle track and field. Between 1976-84, he won 107 in the running and set a world record four times. Moses was also elected as the first chairman of Laureus World Sports Academy in 2000 after retiring from sports.

Moses is in his 60+ age and has noticed how many of his teammates have deceased from the 1980s. Then after this deep realization, Moses arranged a virtual town hall meeting and got together to spend some time.
Sir Chris Hoy, 44
Sir Christopher Andrew Hoy, popularly known as Chris Hoy, is a British racing driver and former track cyclist. He is six times Olympic champion and eleven times world champion. Hoy is the recipient of six gold and one silver medal. In 2008 Summer Olympics took home three gold medals and became the most successful cyclist of all time.

Hoy was elected as Member of the British Empire’s Order in 2005 and awarded a knighthood in 2009. Hoy retired in 2013 from his sports career but is still involved in the cycling industry and has released his own cycling bike variety.
Nadia Comaneci, 59
Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian retired gymnast. She is five times Olympic gold winner. She was the first gymnast to be awarded a perfect score of 10 at the Olympic Games at 15. Nadia won two gold medals in the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow and received two more perfect scores of 10. Throughout her gymnastic career, she won 9 Olympic medals and four World Artistic Gymnastic Championship medals

Presently Nadia is living in Norman, Oklahoma, with her husband, Bart Conner. The happy couple now trains students at Bart Conner Gymnastics Academy, owned by Nadia and Bart. Additionally, Nadia also has a gymnastics school in Romania.
Dominique Dawes, 44
Dominique Dawes is a retired American artistic gymnast. She is popular by the name Awesome Awesome in the gymnastic community. Dawes is the first African-American woman to win an Olympic medal in artistic gymnastics. She won a gold medal in the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, and from 1991-1996, she is the consecutive recipient of gold medals in National Champions.

Dawes was also the President of the Women’s Sports Federation from 2004-2006, being the youngest president in the sport’s history. In 2019, Dominique opened her own Gymnastic and Ninja Academy in the USA. She further confirms that she is set to open the academy’s branches in more cities in spring.
Janet Beth Evans, 49
Born in Fullerton, California, Janet Evans is an American former swimmer. Evans was a world champion and world record- holder. In 1987 she participated in 400m,800m, and 1500m freestyle distances and broke all the records. In the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, she was the recipient of three gold medals.

After a break, in 2010, Evans returned to swimming in Master swimming. Further in 2016, she was elected as Co Grand Marshal of the Rose Parade 2017. Presently, she lives in Laguna Beach, California, with her husband and two kids and is working as chief athlete officer for the 2028 Summer Olympics.
Peggy Fleming, 72

Peggy Fleming is an American skater who was the only one to win a gold medal in the 1986 Winter Olympics. From 1966-68 she was World Champion and Olympic champion. Fleming was in San Jose, California, and began skating at the age of nine, and her passion grew for skating. Later with practice, her unusual style was recognized and led to five US titles, three world titles, and a gold medal in the 1968 Olympics. With excellence in skating, Peggy is also an artist with work displayed in the Olympians’ Art. After her skating retirement, she has set her foot as a commentator in figure skating for almost 20 years now.
Michael Phelps, 35
Michael Phelps is an American swimmer with a rich, successful career in sports. He is the most decorated Olympic champion in the history of all time. Michale also holds the record for 23 Olympic gold medals, 13 Olympic gold medals in individual events. During the 2008 Beijing Games, he won eight medals and broke the American swimmer’s record.

Although he retired after the 2012 Olympics, he came back in the 2016 Summer Olympics. He took five gold medals and one silver medal home. Phelps has no plans to return; however, he is working as a mental health advocate. In 2017, Phelps joined the board of Medibio who focused on the treatment of mental disorders.
Allyson Felix, 35
Allyson Michelle Felix is an American track and field sprinter with a three-time World Champion in 2005-2009. She has won over five Olympic gold medals as the US Women’s relay team. In the 2012Olympic games, she has set a record that hasn’t been broken yet. She is the only female athlete in track and field sports to win six gold Olympic medals.

Felix is now training in Los Angeles home as the tracks are closed due to the pandemic. She has maintained her training and focusing on the Tokyo Olympics as it was postponed; hopefully, it will be held in 2021. Until then, Felix is concentrating on her family and routine training for her next participation.
Carl Lewis, 59
Carl Lewis is an American former track and field athlete with nine Olympic gold medals, one silver. He is also the recipient of 10 world championships medals, out of which eight were gold. Lewis is a sprinter and long jumper who maintained his records in the world ranking. He had 65 consecutive wins in the long jump in a span of 10 years, which is said to be the longest undefeated streak of any athlete.

After he retired from his sports career, Lewis landed in the film business and became an actor. His films include 9.79, Alien Hunter, Atomic Twist, Speed Zone, 16 Days of Glory, and many more. Being an actor, Lewis is also a coach for exclusive sprinters at the University of Houston.
Usain Bolt, 34
Usain Bolt is a Jamaican sprinter who is one of the greatest in history. He is the world record holder in 100m, 200m 4* 100 m relay and eight-times Olympic gold medal winner. Bolt is the only one who won 100m and 200m in three consecutive Olympics (2008-16).

His fame rose when Bolt won the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Besides being the Olympics medal winner, Bolt is eleven times World Champion, winning gold medals in 200m and 4*100m relay consecutively (2009-2015). With such achievements and victories in sports history, he earned the media name Lightning Bolt. Ian Thorpe is a retired Australian swimmer known for his freestyle. He has achieved five Olympic gold medals. At the age of 14, he was titled as the youngest male who represented Australia. Additionally, Ian was the first person to win six gold medals at the single world championship.

Although, this swimmer quit his career too early as he was under a lot of pressure and revealed to the sources that he was suffering mental health problems. He confirmed to the press that he didn’t get help on time, and due to his mental health, he was unable to focus on his swimming career.
Nancy Kerrigan, 51
Nancy Kerrigan is an actress and a former skater, who won a bronze medal in the 1992 Winter Olympics as well as a silver medal in the 1994 Winter Olympic Games. Kerrigan was also known as the US National Figure Skating Champion of 1993. She became a member of the United States Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 2004.

Kerrigan was badly injured in her knee and this news became public because she was attacked by her fellow competitor’s ex-husband who hired someone to attack her leg. Natalie Coughlin is best known as the American swimmer and champion of twelve Olympic medals. She began competitive swimming when she was six and gained 12 NCAA titles and five U.S National titles. Later, In 2004 she joined the U.S Olympic Swimming Team, where she won two gold medals for 100m backstroke and 800m freestyle.

Besides, she set a world record of completing a 100-meter backstroke in just a minute in her first world championship. Even though her athletic career ended, she is a brand ambassador and investor in a frozen food company. She married swim coach of Crow Canyon sharks, Ethan Hall, in 2009.

Mia Hemm was an unconventional soccer player during her Olympian years. She became a two-time Olympic gold medalist and a FIFA Women’s World Cup champion. Mia also called a soccer icon of her time. Besides, she was the face of the Women’s United Soccer Association (WUSA), who was also named FIFA’s Female World Player of the year twice.

He won a total of eleven medals in his Summer Olympic games during 1984, 1988 and 1992. Biondi has set the three individual world records in the 50-meter freestyle and in the 100-meter freestyle.

Biondi has also been inducted as a member in the International Swimming Hall of Fame and the United States Olympic Hall of Fame. After retirement, he worked as a school teacher and swimming coach in Hawaii. Biondi teaches math and gives coaching to the local swim team in Chatsworth.
