Peggy Fleming is an American skater who was the only one to win a gold medal in the 1986 Winter Olympics. From 1966-68 she was World Champion and Olympic champion. Fleming was in San Jose, California, and began skating at the age of nine, and her passion grew for skating. Later with practice, her unusual style was recognized and led to five US titles, three world titles, and a gold medal in the 1968 Olympics. With excellence in skating, Peggy is also an artist with work displayed in the Olympians’ Art. After her skating retirement, she has set her foot as a commentator in figure skating for almost 20 years now.
