Richard Branson’s $180K Necker Island is Now Worth About $60 Million
The business magnate Richard Branson never knew the deal he was making to impress his girlfriend would be the best deal of his life! The original owner of Necker Island, Lord Cobham, listed the island for $5 million. Branson made him a lowball offer of $100K as a joke, and luckily the capital-strapped Cobham settled on the price of $180K.
However, as per the law, the privately-owned island must be converted into a resort, so Branson had to shell out $10 million more to build the resort and other facilities. Today, you will be surprised to know that the same island is now worth about $60 million.
