The longtime silver screen presence Gene Hackman chose a new career path as a novelist at the age of 89. Hackman is no stranger to being an island owner. First, he owned Fawn Island in the San Juans, but it was pretty exposed, so he sold it. In exchange, he purchased another island to enjoy more seclusion. Then, he picked a small piece of paradise in British Columbia, spanning over 2.3 acres of land where he’s looking to enjoy his retired life.

However, how much he paid for this small chunk of heaven is undisclosed, but we can safely assume it to be a couple of million dollars.
