And to do so, massive amounts were paid to top-notch performers. The bands and solo performers demanded whopping amounts from the organizers, and the payment had to be paid in cash as the organizers were relatively new.

As there were no vanity vans in those days, the car’s boot could only accommodate talent until they hit the stage. Two of the most highly paid performers include Jimi Hendrix and members of the Jefferson Airplane.
