Es wurde vor einigen Jahren bekannt, dass der Europameister von 1996 und seine Frau ein auf einer landwirtschaftlichen Liegenschaft gewidmetes Wohnhaus samt Freiland in Größe von 4.000 Quadratmetern um 1,4 Millionen Euro gekauft hatten. Nach der Auflösung des dortigen Bauernhofes wurde das landwirtschaftliche Anwesen anschließend filetiert und ebenfalls angeboten. Laut “TT” kaufte Bierhoff daraufhin das Gebäude und weitere Grundflächen um 743.000 Euro. Mit der alten Hofstelle handelt es sich alles in allem um weitere 12.000 Quadratmeter – 5.530 Quadratmeter Wald, eine Wiese mit Quellfassungen und ein als Parkplatz ausgewiesenes Feld.
