A Mother & Daughter Who Were Supposed To Start A New Life In Idaho

This mother-daughter tandem named Charlotte and Marjorie Collyer were among those who survived the whole tragedy. They had second-class tickets and were on the ship because they were about to start a new life in Idaho. Sadly, Charlotte’s husband, Harvey, didn’t survive.

The Collyer girls attracted a lot of attention from the media, and they were even greeted by a ton of reporters once they reached the United States after getting rescued. They later went back to England, and Charlotte ended up remarrying. She passed away in 1916 due to tuberculosis, and Marjorie went under the wing of her uncle Walter Collyer.
