The One Who Saw The Iceberg

Because the RMS Titanic lacked a lot of helpful technology, there were designated people who were on the lookout for any danger coming their way. Crewman Frederick Fleet was the one who spotted the iceberg. His eyesight must be perfect because he didn’t use any binoculars.

He was among the people who survived the tragedy, and he later revealed that he might’ve spotted the iceberg sooner if they gave him binoculars. He says that it was possible to avoid the whole tragedy if only they saw the icebergs sooner. Frederick became depressed for several years and thought everything was his fault.
