La famiglia Howard conduceva una vita tranquilla e non era mai dovuta ricorrere all’ intervento della polizia. Avevano un buon rapporto con i vicini ed erano conosciuti come una famiglia di persone per bene.
In questo caso, sentirono che fosse necessario informare le forze dell’ ordine sull’ accaduto in modo che non si potesse piu’ ripetere.
La polizia di Flint fu molto colpita nel sentire il racconto dei fatti da parte di Hayden. Purtroppo erano abituati alle denunce di maltrattamenti di animali, ma era la prima volta che si trovavano davanti a qualcosa del genere.
