Forest Whitaker – 70 Pounds, To Avoid Health Issues
Veteran actor Forest Whitaker has starred in a massive variety of roles – from jazz musician Louis Armstrong in ‘What a Wonderful World’ to T’Challa’s mentor Zuri in ‘Black Panther’ – and he has never shied away from changing his appearance for a character. After being cast as the brutal Ugandan dictator Idi Amin in ‘The Last King of Scotland’, the actor piled on 70 pounds to better suit the part.
Forest dedicated himself to losing weight after filming as he was concerned the added bulk would lead to health problems such as heart disease. He soon shed the pounds by following a vegetarian diet and partaking in martial arts.
