Jillian Michaels – 50 Pounds, To Cope With Her Parents’ Divorce
She may be a well-known personal trainer now, but when Jillian Michaels was a teenager she struggled with excess weight too. As a teenager, she used food for comfort and to bond with her overweight father, which led her to weigh 170 pounds.
Jillian’s mother enrolled her in martial arts in the hope of helping her to cope with her parents’ divorce. These classes started Jillian on her fitness journey, although it would take a while before she truly understood how to compose a healthy diet and traded the artificial stuff for real, whole food.
