Yoko Ono & John Lennon – 1969

If you thought that John Lennon and Yoko Ono would go through with their nuptials like every other couple, then you thought wrong. They were far from conventional, with Ono wearing a mini-skirt, blouse, hat, and white shoes with knee-length socks.

Even though the two initially hoped to marry in a ferry between England and France, they did not have the permission to do so because Ono was not British. Therefore, their union happened at the British Registrar Office in Gibraltar in 1969. The couple had a son named Sean Lennon, five years before Lennon was murdered.
