Maria Shriver (67) – Chicago
Maria Shriver, a two-time Emmy winner, made an unexpected career choice as a journalist despite coming from a politically active family. Her marriage to California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger from 1986 until their divorce in 2021 also made her a prominent figure in the political world. Despite her political connections, Shriver built a strong foundation for her career in journalism. She began her journey working for NBC shows like “CBS Morning News” and later became the main anchor of “NBC News” in 1986. Her role as California’s First Lady also gave her a platform to advocate for social causes close to her heart. In 2018, Shriver published her book, “I’ve Been Thinking…: Reflections, Prayers, and Meditations for a Meaningful Life.” The book was well-received and reflected her own journey towards a more fulfilling and purposeful life. Maria Shriver’s legacy as a journalist and advocate for social causes continues to inspire many, even beyond her marriage to a high-profile politician.
