Phyllis George – 70 Years

Phyllis George was a well-celebrated sportscaster in the ’80s and ’90s. She was a reporter and co-host of the famous show The NFL today in 1975, becoming the first woman in the world ever to hold an on-air position in national televised sports broadcasting. After this, Phyllis also hosted a talk show CBS Morning News.

Phyllis was widely regarded as a television icon for her superb work in this field over the years. In several interviews, she stated, throughout her career, leukemia troubled her, but she never back-up and fought strongly. But finally, in May 2020, she departed this life peacefully.
