Ein arabisches Märchen: Das wusstest du bisher nicht über Dubai

Kamelrennen sind für Besucher, die in den Vereinigten Arabischen Emiraten unterwegs sind, ein sehr aufregendes Ereignis. Jedes Rennkamel benötigt, ähnlich wie Rennpferde, sehr viel Zeit und Sorgfalt bei der Vorbereitung. Der Fokus liegt dabei auf dem Training und der Ernährung der Tiere. Der “Al Marmoom” in Dubai ist die größte Rennstrecke im Land, doch die Kamele werden von Roboterjockeys gesteuert. Durch die moderne Technik können die Trainer die Roboter mit Funkgeräten und GPS ausstatten. Die Rennsaison findet nur in den kühleren Monaten, von Oktober bis April, statt. Ein Besuch in dieser Zeit lohnt sich und bietet einige interessante Erlebnisse.
