Aretha Franklin & Victorie Franklin At Age 18
The late Aretha Franklin, the “Queen of Soul”, was one of the greatest singers in the history of music. She was also a songwriter, pianist, actress, and activist. Chain of Fools, I Never Loved a Man and Respect are just a few of her all-time hits.
Aretha recorded a total of eighty-eight albums, counting studio and other releases, and she is still ranked by the Billboard chart as the greatest female vocalist of the 1955-2012 era. She was married twice, gave birth to four children, and is survived by three grandchildren. One of them, Victorie Franklin, gave a speech at A People’s Tribute to the Queen honorary concert for Aretha.
