Het was de voormalige voetbalster David Beckham die Victoria leerde kennen nadat de Spice Girls een van zijn wedstrijden bijwoonden toen hij bij Manchester United speelde in 1997. Aan het begin van 1998 verloofden Posh Spice en Beckham zich, en een jaar later, in juli 1999, stapten ze dan ook in het huwelijksbootje.
Tijdens de befaamde plechtigheid in een kasteel in de buurt van Dublin werden gouden tronen, een met een echt zwaard aangesneden bruidstaart, echte duiven en een (18-karaats) diamanten kroon, om maar een paar van de hoogtepunten te noemen, overladen. Na 21 jaar wonen de Beckhams nog steeds gelukkig samen in een herenhuis met vijf slaapkamers in Miami dat volgens The Sun zo’n 27 miljoen dollar waard is.
