Het powerkoppel Michael Douglas en Catherine Zeta-Jones ontmoette elkaar in 1996 tijdens een bezoek aan het filmfestival van Deauville, volgens een interview met Larry King. Douglas en Zeta-Jones werden aan elkaar voorgesteld door Antonio Banderas en Melanie Griffith, en hun relatie duurt tot op de dag van vandaag voort.

Douglas en de “Ocean’s Twelve” actrice trouwden in november 2000. Het geliefde sterrenpaar bracht hulde aan wijlen Kirk Douglas op de verjaardag van zijn 104e verjaardag, en ze zien er vandaag nog even hecht uit als toen ze elkaar voor het eerst ontmoetten.
