Beautiful Football Fans
SENEGAL
The 2018 World Cup was a historical event that showcased some of the best soccer players in the world. However, what makes this tournament even more remarkable is the passionate and rowdy fans of the participating countries. One country that particularly shone was Senegal. From their enthusiastic cheering of their country during their surprising 2-1 defeat of Poland to their borrowing of a Japanese fan tradition of celebrating victory by cleaning up after themselves, the fans showed great pride in representing Senegal.
The Senegalese national soccer team made an impressive showing at the World Cup, placing 23rd overall in the tournament. In 2022, they moved up five positions to place 18th in the FIFA ranking, maintaining their lead among African teams.
