Craig Melvin is a 41-year old American broadcast journalist and anchor. He was born and brought up in Columbia, South Carolina. Melvin joined NBC-affiliate WIS-TV in Columbia while he was still in high school. After college, he started working as a news photographer and producer in WIS. Later he started reporting for the morning news team. While at WIS, Melvin covered various issues, including education and homelessness. In 2011, he joined MSNBC as a daytime anchor. Besides, he has also been working for NBC News as a reporter.

Craig married his wife Lindsay Czarniak in 2011. Czarniak is a well-known sports journalist. The couple is blessed with two children.
